re DaCheech (Post 2406): The last word for me is reasoning on what Jehovah says, and each of us figuring out how to apply it best. There's more scrolls coming, and then who knows how he might communicate with worthy ones after that, time will tell. In the meantime, perhaps we can consider, Are we like Paul, whom Jehovah used to help people make up their minds with the Truth he was inspired to tell; or are we like Saul, whose appearances scared many people off, but whom Jesus felt could still be reached and reasoned with, even if it took blinding him to do it?

Are You Paul or are you Saul?
by reniaa inthis was the same man at different times in his life yet he changed his name because he completely changed his ideals and goals too.
both were extremely zealous, both thought they were doing gods work, both thought they were working for the greater good.. acts 8:3 (new international version)3but saul began to destroy the church.
going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison.. soul thought gods work was to destroy the christians but paul.... acts 20: 19i served the lord with great humility and with tears, although i was severely tested by the plots of the jews.

re DaCheech (Post 2404) • I'm not a Hindu that believes in reincarnation as either a lion or a lamb. That having been said, I'm sure that Paul appreciates having been "lamblike" at his death, warranting a heavenly resurrection. Had he stayed as Saul the Pharisee after Jesus spoke with him on the road to Damascus, his "lionlike" disposition would have apparently meant everlasting destruction. I'm sure Paul is glad to be alive and faithful in his heavenly assignment instead of what would have happened alternatively, had he not been faithful at the time of his natural death.

• You might want to look up "crazy" in a dictionary such as the 3-volume Webster's Third New International Dictionary, which I have a copy of. I'm not referring to "excellent" or "very good", modern corruptions of the term "crazy". The consequences of sex [and every other action, for that matter] need to be considered each and every time. Transmission of disease, sperm, and other bodily fluids is just one area of issues [double meaning intended], which can and do have life-altering consequences to the parties involved.Thank you, yknot, for your sobering Post 4516, highlighting the need for respect and trust. Craziness tends to throw respect and trust out the window, even when it is engaged in by just the 2 legitimately-marital partners, I reckon.

Is the Governing Body the Only Channel of Communication between God and Men?
by UnDisfellowshipped inlet's take my questions one at a time (since you said i had posted too many on my other thread):.
* can you please explain to me, using only the bible, why anyone should believe that today's governing body of jehovah's witnesses (or the "faithful slave class" of the jehovah's witnesses), is the "sole channel of communication" between god and men?.
* in addition, can you explain why we should believe that christ's parable of the "faithful and discreet slave" was predicting a "class" of anointed christians who would give orders to all other christians, instead of simply teaching that faithful christians will be rewarded by christ when he returns?.

• My Post 37 meant to refer to isaacaustin's Post 1602 (rather than his Post 1606) obviously.
to Billy the Ex-Bethelite (Post 1540)
• "freedom in silence" means "freedom in listening while the one's with the floor are speaking". Death is something to be free from, when the time for resurrection is right. I'm glad that 2 Pet.3:9 is written, it states Jehovah's desire quite clearly. The war of Jehovah is a just war, and includes warning and a time for reasoning and repentance. Jehovah is not a man that he should tell lies. He is not 1000 more than Hitler, the perpetrator of the holocaust of 6 million Jews, is he? Jehovah is love, after all.
to mrsjones 5 (Post 9443) re "watching snuff videos to desensitize yourself Spike"
• I'm new to your sense of humor. You'll need to explain this.
to mrsjones 5 (Post 9446) re the pasting of Matthew 7:1-29 from the NIV
• That's way too quick and easy on your part. To give these matters due justice, I'll need your application to me, along with your reasoning.
to isaacaustin (Post 1607) re charges against the GB re "anything but Christ's brothers", "repeated false prophecies disqualifying them"
• I'll let Jehovah and Jesus be the judge re your claims. They have their means of speaking to your heart.

• Sex is still disrespectful, if it's outside of marriage. And craziness goes against the principle of perpetual reasonableness.

to isaacaustin (Post 1606) re not trusting in the direction of Christ's brothers being tantamount to wickedness:
• "Then he [the Son of man, a.k.a.the king] will say, in turn, to those on his left, 'Be on YOUR way from me, YOU who have been cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels.' … Then he will answer them with the words, 'Truly I say to YOU, To the extent that YOU did not do it to one of the least of these ones [my brothers], YOU did not do it to me.' "— Matthew 25:41 … 46.

• To isaacaustin (Post 1598): I let the Inspired Word speak for itself. Jesus is quoted, at Mathew 23:10 " YOUR Leader is one, the Christ [Jesus]".
• To Yizuman (Post 1973): "[L]et God be found true" (Romans 3:4), even as all [of us] stumble many times (James 3:2).

• At that time those in fear of Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion, and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening. And a book of remembrance began to be written up before him for those in fear of Jehovah and for those thinking upon his name. — Malachi 3:16
• Thank you, Reniaa, for this privileged interchange of encouragement. These goals you mention are also life-saving attitudes and the sure, narrow way. May peace, joy, and love, and their 6 "friends" be with you always. Yes, where would we be without entering in and tasting of the free gift of which you speak?! The scarlet becomes white as snow as the ransom is applied, even to us. Fight on, faithful sister, in "the complete suit of armor from [Jehovah] God", even in these perilous times.

• The influence and understanding of real holy spirit makes all the difference in what we each do with what we see, hence what we value and the choices we can make. Insight into the ingredients of true love, true joy, etc. makes a recipe for what CAN last, even forever, with real heart-felt determination.
• It is true that a graduate of post-secondary education CAN qualify for a line of higher-pay jobs. But, it can also call for more commitment of time, often being in an environment where spiritual discussion is discouraged in favor of "making money" and the "goals of the company", and this combination easier robs one of the ability to maintain sustainable long-term deepening friendships. The journey to graduation can also be very costly in another way, leaving the graduate with a big debt-burden, and unnecessary stress and compromise, and little time or interest in what is really important.
• It is as Ecclesiastes 7:12 states: For wisdom is for a protection the same as money is for a protection; but the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom itself preserves alive its owners.
• In reality, Satan's world will soon be brought to nothing (even though it will apparently be briefly resurrected at the end of the Millenium), whereas Jehovah's world will go on without end. So, each must discern where the real, stable, enlightening wisdom lies, and not be fooled by the rest. The real goal, favor with Jehovah, must always be in focus. Without it, the hope of everlasting life, the real life, is soon clouded over and, thus, lost.
